5/2/07: OKC Marathon Finishers!!!
I finished the OKC Memorial Marathon held on 4/29/07! My finishing (chip) time was 4 hrs. 48 min and 8 sec. Although not as good as last years time of 4 hrs. 27 min, I am still happy that I finished and was able to complete my second marathon.
Dad Ballenger finished in 4 hrs. 58 min and 16 sec. right behind me. Congrats to him on another fine marathon...his 5th.
The marathon was a great experience once again starting in downtown OKC and running out all the way to Lake Hefner and then back to downtown again. A great run to remember for sure.
Although I did not meet my goal of finishing under 4 hrs...(not even close) I am hopeful that I will attain a sub 4 hour marathon on Oct. 7th of this year when I run the LaSalle Bank of Chicago marathon. My other goals are to even get a better time than that in the Tulsa Route 66 marathon in Tulsa, OK this November. We'll see how training goes..nevermind the fact that I turn 30 in 4 days...so my motivation is now high;)
